By IJ-Net

Print and broadcast journalists from selected countries in Asia, Africa and the Caribbean who are interested in writing or producing features on tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS issues are invited to apply for Panos/Stop TB Media Fellowships running from December 2006 to June 2007. Application deadline: December 1.
The Panos Global AIDS Program and Stop TB Partnership are sponsoring the fellowship, which is offered to journalists from Bangladesh, Botswana, Ethiopia, Haiti, India, Kenya, Lesotho, Pakistan, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
The fellowship’s aim is to allow journalists to explore the connections among TB, HIV/AIDS, poverty, urbanization and other socioeconomic problems in the selected countries.
Three journalists chosen from each country will receive a grant of US$500 plus travel and data collection expenses. Successful applicants will be expected to produce at least three feature articles or programs to be published or broadcast between February and April 2007.
Applicants are asked to submit curricula vitae in English with up to five samples of published or broadcast work on health or development issues, a 500-word proposal and two professional references. At least one sample of work must be translated into English.
