Women who have been working in the media industry for at least one year in Southern Africa can apply for one of three scholarships for postgraduate studies in media management at the Sol Plaatje Media Leadership Institute (SPI) at Rhodes University School of Journalism and Media Studies.
Application deadline: October 27.
The scholarship will cover the full cost of tuition and other expenses for SPI’s postgraduate diploma in media management (PDMM). It is offered to applicants from Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Participants are required to spend one month observing management practice at a media organization of their choice, and they are expected to assist SPI in conducting a research project that is related to democracy or open societies in Southern Africa.
Applicants must send a detailed curriculum vitae, a certified transcript and a 1,000-word letter of motivation about their interest in the PDMM and their qualifications.
