Zimbabwe Secret Agencies Confiscate Radios From Rural Folk
Information is being circulated that secret agents are confisticating rural people's radios. Now thats what we call TOTAL MADNESS AND DESPERATION to silence the media. Maybe jamming foreign based Zimbabwean radio stations is not working.

News has just come in that Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (PTUZ)members, identified by rural communities in Gokwe District, the MidlandsNorth Province, as focal persons for their Radio Communication Project hadtheir radios seized by local CIO operatives. Raymond Majongwe is theSecretary General of PTUZ. When teachers explained that their radios weredistributed by their Union, they were asked to produce their Unionmembership cards. Having done so, CIO still took away the radios.
Radios were distributed to them last week. However news is that communitieswhose radios were removed are responding with displeasure.
The Radios are a popular phenomenon in rural life. They provide the latestnews, local and international and link up these isolated areas to oneanother, and with the rest of the world.
Mberengwa was the first district to raise an alarm this afternoon after theMataga CIO operating from Mataga Police station took away 2 radios, one from Thomas Shoko, last Saturday and the other from Mrs Sarudzai Dube, late lastnight.
The alert has been raised nationally that this is the latest CIO project.

May I join all sane and democratic peoples in expressing my disgust at the actions of the desperate and criminal actions of the Mugabe Regime which have now manifested themselves in confiscating the povo's radios in order to prevent them from hearing the truth.
What a shame on this desperate criminal, Robert Mugabe.
